Reduce Space Between Widgets On Sidebar Of Cutline Theme

The most common question being asked in both Blogger and WordPress help forums is how to reduce the space between the widgets on the sidebar.

Frankly I do not know why most, if not all web designers like to create such a unneccessarily wide spacing between the widgets on the sidebar in most templates or themes. It only pushes the page below the fold. Practically almost every theme or template I use for both Blogger and WordPress, I need to tweak or adjust the spacing between the widgets on the sidebar.

Anyway, here is how to reduce the space between the widgets on the sidebar of Cutline Theme:

1. Go to Stylesheet (style.css). Scroll down until you see this set of codes for sidebar. Look for the word margin. You have to tweak or adjust the number 2.5em (indicate in bold below) after margin.

/*---:[ sidebar styles ]:---*/

ul.sidebar_list { list-style: none; }
    ul.sidebar_list li.widget, ul.sidebar_list li.linkcat { width: 210px; margin: 0 0 2.5em 0; font-size: 1.3em; line-height: 1.4em; float: left; }

2. If you want to reduce the spacing between the widgets of your sidebar, then try to reduce the figure 2.5em to 1.0em. Try out different figure to suit your preference.

3. Then click Update File. Got it?
